Struggling with WASSCE Maths? Stop guessing. Letβs fix the gap step by step.
Built to Help Learners Stop Guessing and Start Understanding.
The Maths Clinic is a Ghanaian Core Maths support platform created to help SHS and NOVDEC learners understand the hidden gaps behind repeated WAEC maths mistakes. We focus on clear explanations, guided correction, and purposeful practice so learners can rebuild confidence step by step.
Many Learners Are Not Lazy. They Are Carrying Unfixed Gaps.
In many Ghanaian SHS classrooms, some learners become quiet the moment Core Maths begins. They copy notes, attend lessons, and even try past questions, but the same mistakes keep showing up. For many of them, the real problem is not lack of effort. It is an unfixed learning gap in areas like fractions, algebra, percentages, word problems, graphs, or basic reasoning. The Maths Clinic exists to help learners find those gaps, understand why the mistake keeps happening, and correct the thinking step by step.
The Same Mistake Keeps Returning.
A learner may practice many questions but still lose marks because the weak area behind the mistake has not been fixed.
Understanding Breaks Down Midway.
Some learners start a question well, but get stuck when signs, formulas, diagrams, or word meanings begin to change.
Guided Support Makes the Difference.
When the gap is identified clearly, the learner can practice with purpose instead of repeating the same wrong method.
The Maths Clinic was created for learners who are ready to stop guessing, face their gaps honestly, and start understanding core maths one step at a time.
Our Mission Is Simple: Help Learners Understand Maths Again.
The Maths Clinic is built on one belief: many struggling learners can improve when the real gap is found, explained clearly, and practiced patiently. We are not here to rush learners through more questions. We are here to help them understand what went wrong, correct the thinking, and build confidence through guided practice.
OUR MISSION
To Make Core Maths Clearer for Struggling Learners.
Our mission is to help Ghanaian SHS and NOVDEC learners understand core maths by identifying learning gaps, explaining mistakes clearly, and guiding them to practice with purpose.
OUR VISION
To Build a Trusted Maths Support Space for Ghanaian Learners.
Our vision is to become a reliable support platform where weak and struggling learners can rebuild confidence, prepare better for WAEC-organized exams, and stop feeling lost in Mathematics.
OUR PROMISE
No Shortcuts. No Shame. Just Understanding.
We do not promise magical grades. We provide patient guidance, honest correction, and practical support for learners who are ready to work.
The Maths Clinic exists to help learners stop guessing, start understanding, and improve gradually through clear correction and purposeful practice.
We Focus on the Gaps That Keep Learners Stuck.
The Maths Clinic focuses on the areas where many Ghanaian SHS and NOVDEC learners lose confidence in Core Maths. We look beyond the final answer and pay attention to the weak concepts, repeated mistakes, and exam habits behind the struggle. Our goal is to help learners understand the problem, correct the thinking, and practise with purpose.
Common WAEC Maths Mistakes.
We help learners understand the common mistakes that cause lost marks in WAEC-organized exams.
Hidden Learning Gaps.
We help learners identify weak areas in topics like algebra, fractions, graphs, word problems, financial maths, and reasoning.
Reasoning and Application.
We support learners to explain their thinking, interpret information, apply concepts, and solve unfamiliar questions.
Guided Correction.
We encourage learners to practice the correction, not repeat the same wrong method again and again.
The focus is simple: find the gap, understand the mistake, correct the thinking, and practise until confidence begins to grow.
How The Maths Clinic Helps Learners Improve.
The Maths Clinic uses a simple learning recovery method. We begin by looking at the mistake, not just the final answer. When the cause of the mistake is clear, the learner can stop guessing and start practicing with better understanding.
Diagnose the Gap
We identify the weak area behind the repeated mistake so the learner knows what needs attention.
Explain the Cause
We help the learner understand why the mistake keeps happening and what idea was missed.
Correct the Thinking
We guide the learner from the wrong approach to a clearer and more reliable method.
Practise with Purpose
The learner practices similar questions until the correct method becomes familiar.
Build Confidence
As understanding grows, the learner begins to approach Core Maths with less fear and more control.
Real improvement begins when learners understand the mistake, fix the gap, and practise the correction properly.
We Do Not Just Teach Maths. We Help Learners Find the Gap Behind the Mistake.
The Maths Clinic is different because we focus on the reason behind repeated Core Maths mistakes. Many Ghanaian SHS and NOVDEC learners not only need more questions; they need clear explanations, guided correction, and patient support that helps them understand where the mistake started. Our approach connects WAEC Maths mistakes to the hidden learning gaps behind them, so learners can stop guessing and start improving with purpose.
We Look Beyond the Final Answer
We help learners understand the weak concept behind the wrong answer, not just copy the correct solution.
We Pay Attention to WAEC Mistake Patterns
Our lessons are shaped around common WASSCE Core Maths mistakes, lost marks, and the areas learners often misunderstand.
We Support Learners Who Feel Left Behind
The Maths Clinic is built for learners who need patient explanations, confidence, and step-by-step Maths help.
We Use Simple Examples Learners Can Relate To
We explain Core Maths in clear language, using Ghanaian examples and practice that helps learners understand gradually.
This is why our WAEC Traps, Intervention Hub, Practice Zone, and Ask Dickson pages work together. Each page supports a different part of the learning journeyβfrom noticing the mistake to correcting the gap and practicing with a better understanding.
The Maths Clinic is different because we do not treat mistakes as failure. We treat them as signs showing where understanding needs to be rebuilt.
The Teacher Behind The Maths Clinic
The Maths Clinic was founded by Dickson Sarpong, a professional mathematics teacher passionate about helping weak and struggling Ghanaian SHS learners rebuild confidence in Core Maths. Through classroom teaching, WASSCE preparation, and WAEC marking experience, he has seen how small learning gaps can grow into repeated mistakes, fear, and poor performance when they are not corrected early.
A Mathematics Teacher Focused on Learners Who Need Clarity
Dickson Sarpong is a Ghanaian SHS Mathematics teacher and founder of The Maths Clinic. His work focuses on helping learners understand the hidden gaps behind repeated core maths mistakes, especially in WASSCE and NOVDEC preparation. The Maths Clinic grew from a simple classroom reality: many learners do not hate mathematics. They are often tired of feeling confused, embarrassed, or left behind. With the right explanation and guided correction, many of them can begin to understand again.

The Principles Behind The Maths Clinic
The Maths Clinic is built on values that respect the learnerβs struggle while still encouraging responsibility, effort, and honest practice. We believe struggling with core maths does not make a learner useless. It simply means there is a gap that must be found, explained, corrected, and practised properly.
Learning Takes Time
We understand that weak learners need calm explanations, repeated practice, and room to make corrections without shame.
Understanding Comes First
We explain ideas in simple language so learners know why a method works, not just what answer to copy.
No False Promises
We do not promise magical grades. Improvement requires effort, correction, practice, and consistency.
Learners Must Also Work
Guidance matters, but learners must be ready to practice, ask questions, and correct their mistakes honestly.
At The Maths Clinic, mistakes are not treated as disgrace. They are treated as clues that show where understanding must be rebuilt.
Ready to Stop Guessing and Start Understanding?
The Maths Clinic was created for learners who are tired of repeating the same Core Maths mistakes without knowing why. If you are struggling with WASSCE or NOVDEC Maths, start by finding the gap, understanding the mistake, and taking one clear step forward.
Start small. Ask honestly. Practise patiently. Improve gradually.
